Set in the heart of cosmopolitan Ponsonby, the soul of Auckland city, this iconic building is a part of New Zealand’s early settler history. It’s a peaceful retreat from the bustle of Ponsonby road with stunning views of harbour and city.
The Manor is brand new having been completely renovated. All the rooms are beautifully furnished with a modern fit out against elegant Victorian craftsmanship. Floor to ceiling tiled ensuites throughout, large LCD TV’s.
Rooms
We have rooms to suit most budgets and requirements with various configurations. These include family rooms sleeping up to 5, Rooms with their own private verandahs with views of Auckland. Virtually all rooms have ensuites, queen beds, tea making facilities and 32″ LCD TVs.
We have just installed new air conditioning and heat pump systems to each room (except the Garden Single) to cool the rooms in summer and heat in winter.
Twin rooms are available with two single beds.
We have disability access and disability shower and bathroom facilities available.
Family Room
Our large family room has a top quality Queen bed in the main room and two adult size bunks in an adjoining sunroom. The Victorian décor includes a traditional stained glass door between the two rooms, a beautiful fireplace and heavy blackout drapes. Facilities include an ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee making area with fridge, 32 inch LCD TV, plus a table and chairs to enjoy the views of Ponsonby Road.
We have installed a new air conditioning and heat pump system to cool the room in summer and heat in winter.
Free unlimited Wi-Fi (ultrafast fibre connection) is available in all rooms. Full cooking facilities are available in the extensively equipped main house shared kitchen / dining room and there is a cozy TV lounge for guests to relax in.
The Penthouse
The penthouse is a quiet second floor room that has French doors opening on to its own private large upstairs verandah overlooking Auckland city, Skytower and the harbour. The views are absolutely amazing, especially in the evening. There is a luxurious Queen bed, ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities with fridge, 32 inch LCD TV, blackout drapes and writing desk.
Ponsonby Suite
The largest room in the house, The Ponsonby Suite is ideal for those who plan to stay a little longer. There is a separate sitting area in the front window of the house with Queen Anne wing chairs and footstools so you can relax enjoying the afternoon sun and the views along Ponsonby Road. The Victorian decor includes an antique writer’s desk, stained glass and leadlight windows, a beautiful traditional fireplace and heavy blackout drapes. Facilities include a luxurious queen bed, ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee making area with fridge and 32 inch LCD TV.
Premium Queen Rooms
A range of lovely rooms with quality queen beds, ensuite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities with fridges, 32 inch LCD TV’s and blackout drapes. Some rooms have amazing views to the harbour and others to the Waitakere Ranges. Most rooms have historic original fireplaces, stained glass windows, antique writing desks and access to the front upstairs verandah.
Premium King/Twin Rooms
A range of lovely rooms with king beds (or split into two single beds), ensuite bathrooms, coffee and tea making facilities with fridges and 32 inch LCD TV’s. These rooms include blackout drapes and French doors opening to the outside garden decks.
Standard Queen Rooms
There are a variety of garden and house standard queen rooms. The garden rooms have French doors opening onto the covered verandah with their own table and chairs to relax in the private garden. The house rooms have a view to the historic church next door. Each room has a quality Queen bed, an ensuite bathroom, 32 inch LCD TV and blackout drapes.
The Cottage
The colonial door opens onto a private deck with table and chairs. A large room with a luxurious queen bed, 32 inch LCD TV, tea making facilities, medium sized fridge / freezer, fully tiled ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet.
Garden Single
This garden room has a colonial door that opens onto the deck and garden. Facilities include a quality pillowtop single bed with 25 inch LCD TV and blackout drapes. This room is very small with shared bathroom facilities in the main house. Full cooking facilities are available in the extensively equipped main house shared kitchen / dining room including fridge space with milk, tea & coffee and there is a cozy TV lounge for guests to relax in.
