Restaurant Lurleen's Restaurant Lurleen's, 850 Mount Cotton Rd, Mount Cotton QLD 4165, Australia

Restaurant Lurleen, set within the gorgeous grounds of Mount Cotton's Sirromet Winery, is one of this country's best winery restaurants. The restaurant's striking design is accentuated by huge bluestone towers while large exposed timber creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the impressive fit-out, Lurleen's impresses as a truly gourmet dining destination with equal emphasis on plate and glass.

Just 30 minutes south of Brisbane you'll find a highly praised restaurant and award-winning winery, nestled in the scenic surrounds of Mount Cotton. With equal emphasis on plate and glass, Restaurant Lurleen's combines palate-pleasing wines with an obsession for fresh, local produce, resulting in one of the country's best winery restaurants. The large dining room features exposed wood and bluestone towers, complemented by professional and welcoming staff.

Fresh local produce benefits from Asian and European culinary influences, and are brought together by the deft hand of executive chef and television celebrity Andrew Mirosch. At least two-thirds of the kitchen's produce is sourced locally, with Moreton Bay proving a delicious source of fresh seafood, and organic herbs, spices, fruit and vegetables grown on-site. Serving breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon tea Wednesday to Sunday, and dinner Thursday to Saturday, Restaurant Lurleen's at Sirromet Winery is the ultimate spot to while away a day in the country. The tempting menu suggests wines by the glass to match each entree and main; or those with an appetite can indulge in a seven-course degustation dinner with matched wines each Thursday and Friday. Start with the chilled ballentine of ocean trout, smoked salmon rillette, and lemon and creme fraiche pannacotta with toasted brioche, matched to a glass of Sirromet's 2006 Perfect Day Beginnings. Follow with the seared, herb-crusted salmon fillet served with sauteed Mediterranean vegetables, shaved fennel and blood orange, with potato crisps and garlic aioli. Cast your eyes over the daily specials, vegetarian menu and boutique Queensland cheese menu to complete the Lurleen's experience.
