You could easily mistake the bright and funky Pawpaw Asian Kitchen for being an authentic street food style hawker in the middle of South East Asia with recipes mainly from Thailand, Laos, Malaysia and Indonesia. Perfectly at home amongst the tropical climate of Tingalpa and just 10 minutes out of Brisbane's CBD diners will feel like they are a million miles away. The restaurant is decorated with a fun leafy theme matched with long dark timber tables, and the bright neon glow that reads 'pawpaw'. Located in Tingalpa and Balmoral, Pawpaw Asian Kitchen showcases some of South-East Asia's most flavoursome lands. Pawpaw Asian Kitchen offers dine-in and takeaway food dishes from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam & Malaysia's mouthwatering restaurants.
Started out by Raymund Venzin as a small market stall selling homemade Thai curry pastes in 2000, fast forward to 2016 and we are now a proud family run business that includes four of Brisbane's best loved cafes and restaurants.
Mons Ban Sabai Thai Restaurant in Camp Hill was where Brisbane audiences first got a taste of our passion for the finest quality food, served without any fine-dining pretense. Nowadays a Southside institution, just a few years after opening we were very lucky to win the award for 'Best Thai Restaurant in Brisbane' three years in a row.
When Raymund's daughter, Giorgina Venzin, finished her studies it was time for our team to grow again. Pawpaw at Woolloongabba proved that breakfast is the favourite meal of the day for many locals and was a hit with Brisbane foodies.
More restaurants followed in recent years with Piggy Back Cafe, our first venture into Brisbane's Western Suburbs, and Pawpaw Asian Kitchen opening at Tingalpa, as soon at Balmoral in Brisbane's east.
