The National Space Centre is a museum and educational resource covering the fields of space science and astronomy, along with a space research programme in partnership with the University of Leicester.

At the National Space Centre, we are dedicated to making sure you have the perfect day out.

As well as our fantastic galleries and attractions, we have accessible facilities and helpful staff who are always on hand to help or advise you during your visit.

Parking
We have over 400 spaces in our car park, including 23 enhanced accessibility spaces, all charged at £3 pay and display for the whole day.

Space Crew
Our experts in the galleries, look out for members of Space Crew if you have any questions or need assistance

Toilets
Male, female and disabled toilets are situated throughout the centre

Baby Changing
Facilities for changing baby are situated next to the Cargo Bay shop and also behind the Live Space gallery

Cash Machine
There is a fee free facility on site

First Aid
A first aid trained member of staff is always on duty.

Lost Property
Our security team and Space Crew are here to help if you find you have lost anything during your day out.

Access
The National Space Centre allows access for all and is accessible to people in wheelchairs or with mobility issues, and other special needs.

  • Disabled parking spaces available (parking charges apply)
  • The Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium has spaces for up to 6 wheelchairs
  • Wheelchairs are available on loan to visitors free of charge (subject to availability)
  • Large print information is available upon request
  • Assistance dogs are welcome
  • Touch tours are available with prior booking
  • An induction loop is fitted in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium
  • Most audio exhibits are subtitled
  • Seating is available throughout the galleries.

Spaceflight Induction Module

  • All riders must be at least 1.2m (120cm) tall to ride the SIM.
  • Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult in order to ride.
  • The Simulator is not suitable for people with certain medical conditions; please refer to the list displayed in the Tranquillity Base prior to boarding.
  • For those unable to access the SIM we offer the opportunity to enjoy the show without entering the ride
