The short street called Coppergate had its roots firmly established in the Viking period 1100 years ago, and a number of craftsmen living here produced cups and bowls from wood, hence the street name Cuper or Cupra gate in its earlier form.
You can be certain of a warm welcome as you step inside our beautiful restaurant, once a 16th century coaching inn. See the original old oak beams and imagine what wonderful tales those old walls could tell.
