London Transport Museum is located in the south east corner of Covent Garden Piazza. The Piazza is cobbled, with a level path only part of the way round.
Wheelchair users
The museum is accessible for wheelchair users with level access at the Ticket Desk, and lifts to all floors. There are ramps in some areas. Due to the historic nature of our collection, not all of the vehicles are accessible. To support your visit, a wheelchair is available for visitor use. Please ask at the Ticket Desk.
Hearing impairment
Induction loops are located at the Ticket Desk, Cloakroom, Library and Information Desk. Our audio visual exhibits are either subtitled or fitted with induction loops.
Visual Impairment
Large print Highlights Tours are available on request from the Ticket Desk and the Information Desk on the First Floor. Magnifiers are also available on request. Please ask at the Ticket Desk.
Assistance dogs are welcome, and water bowls are available on request, from the Ticket Desk.
Facilities
All toilets, including accessible toilets, and baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor.
Library
Visitors to the Library need to arrive at the Museum's Reception entrance at 39 Wellington Street. The Library is situated on the first floor at the top of a curved flight of stairs. Full disabled access to the Library is available via the lift in the main Museum and then stair lift to the Library. Please let us know when booking your appointment if you would like to use these facilities. Magnifiers are available for visitor use. Please ask the librarian.
Museum Depot
The Depot at Acton is close to Acton Town Underground station. The approach road to the Depot has a fairly steep incline. Inside the Depot there are ramps and wheelchair platforms to some areas and a lift to the first floor. The disabled toilet is on the ground floor. Parking spaces at the Museum Depot are limited. During open weekends, parking is only available to blue badge holders, on a first come first served basis.
