Situated in a converted warehouse in the inner city suburb of Newstead, The Golden Pig Cooking School is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Katrina and Mark Ryan. Katrina has worked at Yandina's Spirit House and was head chef at Neil Perry's Rockpool Sydney, while Mark was owner of The Pig and The Olive in Sydney and was also head chef at The Bathers Pavilion. Offering both hands on and demonstration classes including Thai classics, French decadence and Italian essentials. The Golden Pig is also available for weddings, parties or private and corporate events; guest capacity is for 80 seated and up to 200
The Golden Pig Food and Wine School is owned by Katrina and Mark Ryan who between them have a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality, restaurant and design industries.
The school offers Hands-on cooking classes in a variety of popular cuisines. We also offer education & appreciation classes in wine, beer and spirits.
General classes are open to the public and we also offer specialized classes and events that can be tailored to suit private or corporate groups, such as wine and food matching classes, corporate team building and special occasion classes. Our classes aim to be informative, educational and fun at the same time.
The school is located in a funky warehouse in inner city Newstead. The space has been designed to be as flexible as possible and includes a kitchen area, lounge and retail space as well as a delightful dining area and rear bbq deck. The premises are available for private bookings such as book launches, product showcases and corporate events.
