The magical Isle of Jura is famous for its deer, its whisky, its wilderness and its warm hospitality, and the Jura Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the island. In a sheltered setting in the village of Craighouse, the Jura Hotel has breathtaking views across the water and is metres from the world-famous Jura Distillery.
This family-run hotel captures the mood of the island with its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There are two lounges for guests' use, free wifi for hotel residents, a reasonably priced restaurant and a lively bar - island's only pub - serving good quality meals and heavenly cake. The hotel has seventeen recently renovated bedrooms, most with beautiful sea views and modern ensuite facilities.
Jura is the place to get away from it all, to enjoy the outdoors, the beautiful scenery, the wildlife-spotting and laid-back island life with little - but fantastic - company. Getting here is hard enough to keep the island almost a secret, but accessible enough for those who discover it to make them come back time and time again.
All of our rooms have recently been renovated, bringing them up-to-date while retaining the character of the hotel that regular guests return for, year after year. As part of our renovation we added ensuite facilities to almost all bedrooms; the two without ensuites have private bathrooms across the hall and we provide bathrobes to guests staying in these two rooms. All bath & shower rooms have shaver sockets and all rooms have hairdryers.
The premium rooms are larger than the standard rooms and have baths as well as showers, and they have seating. All but one of the doubles and all of the twin rooms have a beautiful sea view.
We can provide a cot, high chair, potty, baby bath and toy box for babies and toddlers to borrow.
The bedrooms do not have TVs but free wifi is available throughout the building for hotel guests and there is a comfortable television lounge downstairs with a selection of DVDs and a library with books to borrow during your stay.
