There is a lot to love about this dining space from its concrete walls and metallic pendant lamps that create just the right amount of 'urban' chic. A wine bistro, this is the kind of place to come with a small group of friends, order a few plates of European-inspired dishes to share, a bottle of wine and settle in for the night.
Named after Saint Urban, a Bishop of Langres in France during the 4th century, this might just be Melbourne’s holiest wine bar. Described as a place for a coffee, a drink, a snack or a meal, Saint Urban doesn’t take itself too seriously. Beautiful arched windows, worn woods and handmade blue tiles make up the interior of the small fifty seater dining area that’s warm, inviting and easily a place that you could stay for hours. It’s a place where people can catch up over a glass of wine (there’s Australian and European wines on offer), a plate of cheese or charcuterie in the afternoon or share a slow-braised lamb shoulder and a bottle of red for dinner.
