Your next Asian dining adventure awaits at the interactive and modern Mr Kwok, located on busy Swanston Street in central Melbourne. Watch through the front window of the restaurant as noodles are stretched by hand and dumplings freshly rolled daily. Using traditional methods of making most of the dishes in-house brings an authentic flavour to the contemporary Chinese restaurant. Many of the dishes are made from original family recipes and are ideally shared with a group of family and friends.
Mr Kwok makes his noodles from scratch & pulls them, by hand, to order. His dumplings are freshly made every day. You can watch for yourself in our noodle & dumpling window at the front of the restaurant! All Mr Kwok's dumplings, noodles, soups, stocks, & sauces are made in house from family recipes passed down through the generations.
There comes a time in every family when there is a passing of the guard from one generation to the next.
That time has arrived for Swanston St. staple Noodle Kingdom and the Sze family, as daughter Tiffy has formally taken the reins from father Sze Kwok Wai.
Referencing her Chinese heritage and the father for who the new restaurant is named, Mr Kwok maintains all that was loved about the former Noodle Kingdom with the introduction of the quirks and tastes of the Melbourne city that has shaped her. And, although he's supposed to be taking it a bit easy, Sze Kwok Wai can still be found in the kitchen most days, putting the staff through their paces, testing menu items, & making sure everyone is properly fed.
Using family recipes and traditional Gansu Cuisine from the inland North Western region of China, Mr Kwok is about sharing food in good company, and plenty of both. Mr Kwok will offer handmade dumplings and noodles pulled to order till 3.30am weekdays and 5am weekends.
Mr Kwok is fully licensed until 3am every day of the week, and offers a well-curated, succinct selection of Australian wine, craft beers, and top shelf house spirits. With the extra addition of Feral Brewing Co. beer on tap.
