Glossy timber floors reflect the spectacular lighting of dramatic chandeliers that hang in the entrance. An 11 metre golden onyx bar faces over 350 sparkling fibre optic lights and leads diners through the restaurant to the many contemporary dining spaces. Glide over to the White Lounge to relax by the modern, mirror-lined fireplace and overlook the Yarra River while you laze in the white leather chairs.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Reffell's menu reads like a round-the-world tour of Europe, Asia and South America. From a smaller dish of semolina crusted baby squid nestled into a bed of soft white polenta, capers and tomato chutney to the likes of kingfish cerviche with ginger master stock, avocado purée, radish, and red pepper salsa. These leisurely pleasures are best accentuated with a cocktail or a glass of top-quality wine from the predominately Australian wine list. Or perhaps opt for a French varietal, which is brilliant company to the wild barramundi with cauliflower purée, puy lentils, globe artichoke, oyster mushrooms, parma ham shards, and madeira jus. Other main meals, which depict subtle earthy flavours include venison saddle with braised red cabbage, jerusalem artichokes, poached pears, potato gratin, and venison jus. While it remains a great spot for elegant drinking, Left Bank is also a contender for serious, first-class dining.
FUNCTIONS
Left Bank is a sophisticated contemporary lounge, bar and dining venue that offers a fresh space for functions that combines chic style with a relaxed, atmosphere. Large spaces can be used exclusively for up to 350 guests, or alternatively there are a number of secluded semi-private areas that can be hired for more intimate functions.
