This casual eatery knows how to deliver good Italian food at easy-on-the-pocket prices. Despite its up-market renovation, the vibe remains jovial and relaxed here and is perfect for families or couples after home-made pasta, thin-based pizza and some of the best apple pie north of the Yarra.
La Taverna was established in 1969, making it one of the first pizzerias in Melbourne. The current owners, Rose and Lawrence, have been running the restaurant since 1989, making it 27 years this year. Lawrence has over 30 years’ experience in the pizza business. We sit about 60 people but also deliver to the surrounding areas.
We are a small family run Italian restaurant that serve everything from pizza, pasta and parmas to Rose’s all homemade desserts. We are well known for our homemade potato gnocchi and pasta sauces. Come for some good food and stay for our homely atmosphere.
