When a restaurant's motto is "eating is happiness," you know you're in a good place. La Svolta's in Prahran is possibly the most awarded pizza joint in Melbourne and the wood-fired oven pumps out pizzas that are classically thin, bursting with the deep flavours of their red sugo and trailing strings of melted mozzarella. There are other Italian dishes on the menu too, and you can drop in during work hours for a takeaway ciabatta that's almost as good as the pizza.

The team is lead by Valerio Calabro and Giuseppe ‘Pino’ Russo, Italian natives, best friends and home cooks with a passion for all things cucina Italiana. They ventured to Australia with a vision to bring the fresh flavours of their homeland to the other side of the world.
The result was La Svolta or ‘turning point’ as it is translated. Proudly, we are one of only a handful of pizzerias in Australia that hold Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) Accreditation, as awarded by the official association in Naples. This means we make pizza the real, Napoli way.
