Description
This charming 16th century restored farmhouse (Le Mas) and small cottage (Le Mazet) are situated in Sainte Croix, a hamlet nestled between the medieval towns of Monpazier and Beaumont du Périgord, only 40 minutes from Bergerac Airport.

Jasmine, roses and wisteria climb the stone walls and around the shuttered windows. There are unspoilt views over glorious countryside and to the 12th century village church. 2.5 acres of garden offer you private areas to relax amongst lavender and rosemary, enjoy the wildlife and birds, or dine out under the stars.

There is much to explore in the area. Markets selling local produce and antiques. Castles, churches and prehistoric caves, as well as restaurants serving the region’s specialities (such as truffles, duck and foie gras). There are stunning walks and a well-known cycle route on the doorstep; canoeing down the river, golf, horse riding. We are happy to advise on what to do and where to go.

Le Mas and Le Mazet are two detached houses on the property which can be rented separately or together. Both properties have their own private parts of the garden.

Le Mas has 5 spacious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a large kitchen and sitting room (both with large fireplaces, terracotta tiled floors and beams), a summer kitchen and private swimming pool with stunning views.

Le Mazet has 1 bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a lovely sitting room with kitchen, also with a large fireplace.

One of the bedrooms on the ground floor of Le Mas, the main house, is wheelchair accessible. The doors from the bedroom (leading outside; to the kitchen and living room; and to the en suite bathroom) are all 90cm wide. The shower is a large open wet area in the bathroom. There are hand grips on the wall of the bathroom by the toilet and in the shower.

The exterior door to this bedroom is very close to the large parking area. Straight opposite the bedroom is the summer kitchen, from where it is possible to go down a gentle slope to the pool.
