Ribs and Burgers have peddled into Melbourne's Northcote in an interesting location on Breavington Way, across All Nations Park. The stylish premise is swathed in old-butcher shop décor with meat rails, old meat grinders, signage and retro prints. The variety of ribs and burgers on offer is rather astounding, so if you need a meat-fix this is the perfect place to silence hunger.
Ribs and Burgers is a bright, broad-rimmed space with full glass frontage and ample al fresco seating. A melange of light wooden tables and bentwood chairs compliment blue and white pin-striped booth-seating. This signature pattern extends though to the floor staff who don butcher aprons and old-school caps. The space is well-lit with glass pendant jar lights and cheekily decorated with meat grinders, black and white photographs and animal stencil prints.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
A big black-board menu offers an impressive list of what the venue does best – ribs and burgers. The original burger with its 160g char-grilled beef patty, iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and condiments on a fresh sesame seed bun is a stalwart choice, but the menu also offers veggie, chicken, lamb and even fish varieties. Ribs come in beef, lamb or pork choices, marinated and cooked for 8 hours, then char-grilled, basted and caramelised to perfection. There are three salads listed on the menu, but don't even bother. It's all about the meat.
