It took me a full week to research and secure the information and assistance I needed to get suitable access sorted out. We still ended up parking in the wrong place because I hadn’t spotted information about blue badge spaces in the side street (I still haven’t found that). I’m used to doing my own research but not everyone would be able to persist. In the end I managed to get help from the lovely Theatre company putting on the performance even though they are not even based in Sheffield! You need to get your act together. Wheelchair provision within the building is not the whole story when it comes to access. You need clear information about parking, suitable seating reserved in the venue and clear information about concessions and “essential companion” provision. If that means phoning the venue you need someone to pick up the phone and ensure they are correctly briefed.
