We approached from the front entrance, my father in his wheelchair. One of the doormen swiftly took control and swept him up the very grand walkway and through an amazing dark corridor nestled under the (apparent) copper hull of a ship and out into the light – we were in the serene dining room. Service was attentive and swift, with lots of smiles, food was plentiful, tasted fresh and delicious, my tangy kale caesar was complimented well with delicious roast woodland mushrooms and freshly baked sourdough bread, (though could have used a little more manchego – I should have asked), dad’s burger was reported to be ‘very good’ between mouthfuls, and disappeared too quickly for me to remember to ask to try some!
