We stayed for two nights on the hotel’s own special offer tariff. The receptionist was kind enough to change our original room for one that would more easily accommodate a wheelchair. The ‘Accessible Room’ was ‘tight’ for a standard 24” power chair but manageable if you don’t mind pushing the beds a bit closer together. The bathroom access was fine for my needs and rails were installed, cleanliness in the shower area however was sorely lacking. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom OK. There was a small balcony to sit on and enjoy the view. Two problems for those who need wheelchair access: (1) the lift will not take non-collapsible wheelchairs, so I had to get out of the chair and fold it when using the lift – and there was hardly enough room to squeeze in with it; (2) at no time could we park in the designated disabled bays as there were only two spaces and one was reserved for a function. The staff were warm, friendly, polite and helpful at all times and the food was lovely.
